Amber & Gold Galatéa

Jean-Philippe Richard is a French sculptor, born in 1947, Paris. His favourite theme is Women. In the early 1990s, the artist focused on statues of women and probed the mysteries of femininity. For Daum, he has created many “pâte de cristal” sculptures, pieces of extreme natural beauty. The slender body emerging from the material with pride and independence pays tribute to timeless femininity.

This season, Jean-Philippe Richard creates for the Maison Daum, Amber & Gold Galatéa statue, a re-edition of his original work in clay. With an elongated silhouette, the sculpture emanates gentleness and strength, mystery and eternity. The colours of the Daum crystal, the transparency of the material, and the play of light, bring poetry and purity to the women of Jean-Philippe Richard. Through his work, Jean-Philippe Richard invites us to explore the alliance of the material with femininity.
